The Mother of Hope Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program is open to teens who are 14-16 years of age who have an interest in being challenged, motivated, and inspired to become dynamic leaders, and if having attended MOH Camp, have been at least one year out of the program as a camper.
CITs are not employed as staff and are still considered campers. They must abide by all camper rules and policies and are not paid.
The program requires a minimum of a four-week commitment at Mother of Hope Camp, during which approved candidates are provided with ongoing training and begin to assume supervised training experiences throughout the summer run by MOH's administrative staff or special guest leadership trainers. CITs will be led in sessions discussing communication, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork. Each CIT has the opportunity to work with various age groups while leading small group activities. They will assist group counselors and be able to view different leadership styles. Such experiences will enable CITs to have a clearer understanding of their role as future potential counselors. The daily performance of each CIT is carefully evaluated, and suggestions for growth are provided. Participation in the CIT program does not guarantee a future staff position or acceptance in the CIT program in future years.
CIT Requirements:
*Must be between the ages of 14 and 17 and be at least one year out of the program as a camper
*Must possess an interest in developing leadership potential
*Must have a genuine enjoyment of working with children
*Must demonstrate initiative and have a history of positive leadership
*Must be willing to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually

Space in the Mother of Hope Camp CIT Program is limited. All applicants must reach out on their own with questions.
